Some bible scholars suggest that the current war in Israel is a fulfillment of Psalm 83. Also, an ancient manuscript was found in a bog in Ireland. The book was opened to Psalm 83. See link: http://www.goodnewsblog.com/2006/07/28/ireland-worker-finds-ancient-psalms-in-bog
Psalm 83: O God, do not keep silent; be not quiet, O God, be not still. 2 See how your enemies are astir, how your foes rear their heads. 3 With cunning they conspire against your people; they plot against those you cherish. 4 "Come," they say, "let us destroy them as a nation, that the name of Israel be remembered no more." 5 With one mind they plot together; they form an alliance against you-- 6 the tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, of Moab and the Hagrites, 7 Gebal, Ammon and Amalek, Philistia, with the people of Tyre. 8 Even Assyria has joined them to lend strength to the descendants of Lot. Psalm 83 is only one of several prophecies pertaining to Israel in the end times. If you research each of the peoples mentioned in vs. 5-8, you will see they have historically been the enemies of Israel; you will also see that God vows harsh judgement on each of them. The Amalekites, for example, will be completely eradicated because of what they did to the Jewish people while they wandered in the desert for 40 years.
In addition to analyzing this Psalm, take a moment to consider this: the manuscript found in Ireland was hand-printed on vellum; it is a complete miracle that it survived, since it's been tentatively dated to 800 -1000 AD. The fact that it was open to Psalm 83 tells us this: God has heard the cries of His people, who are being attacked from each side. God will soon be moved to protect His people, in fulfillment of Ezekiel 38 and 39.

very well may be
Psalm 83
A song. A psalm of Asaph.
1 O God, do not keep silent;
be not quiet, O God, be not still.
2 See how your enemies are astir,
how your foes rear their heads.
3 With cunning they conspire against your people;
they plot against those you cherish.
4 "Come," they say, "let us destroy them as a nation,
that the name of Israel be remembered no more."
5 With one mind they plot together;
they form an alliance against you-
6 the tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites,
of Moab and the Hagrites,
7 Gebal, Ammon and Amalek,
Philistia, with the people of Tyre.
8 Even Assyria has joined them
to lend strength to the descendants of Lot.
Selah
9 Do to them as you did to Midian,
as you did to Sisera and Jabin at the river Kishon,
10 who perished at Endor
and became like refuse on the ground.
11 Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb,
all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna,
12 who said, "Let us take possession
of the pasturelands of God."
13 Make them like tumbleweed, O my God,
like chaff before the wind.
14 As fire consumes the forest
or a flame sets the mountains ablaze,
15 so pursue them with your tempest
and terrify them with your storm.
16 Cover their faces with shame
so that men will seek your name, O LORD.
17 May they ever be ashamed and dismayed;
may they perish in disgrace.
18 Let them know that you, whose name is the LORD—
that you alone are the Most High over all the earth.
Keep watching . . .

I just read it and it sounds exactly like what is going on with the palestinians and the Lebanese (people of Tyre).
Iran is missing although the people of Amalek used to reside on the modern border between Saudi, Irak and Jordan and may refer to Iran.
And some countries are not actively involved (Amon = Egipt, Edom = Jordan).
And we all know that Assyria means Syria.
I hope to find the verse where Israel wins. I am tired of seing the Jihadists have their way.

You will probably never find the real answer to this question, simply because it is based on belief rather than reason. You will find that as many people believe this as will refute it. During all times of war, there have been religious arguments for and against current events fulfilling some biblical "prophecy". In all actuality, you could fit this bible verse in any time since Israel's creation and it would fit somewhere within its turbulent history.

great!!! more nonsense for christians to base their superstiteous world view on.
If this event actually happened as told(the finding of the book open to psalm 83) then someone is playing big time with your minds.
Why you need another book to point you to a book you already have?
They are appealing to the simple minded.
Its all a dream....... WAKE UP!!!
This book was 'found' because you people would be less inclined to believe in a virgin Mary sighting over Israel.

Thnx for the interesting article.
Yes, but this could also have been used when Hitler attempted to exterminate the Jews or during the six day war when Egypt & Syria invaded Israel. I do agree with you. I believe we are fast approaching the last days, however, the Bible says no man knows the hour of Christ return.

No ...
1. Israel is the one on the offensive at the moment.
2. Israel has been involved in conflicts with its neighboring countries nearly continually since reforming post-WWII ... what makes the situation now so much different than anything else in the previous 50 years?

How can this Psalm have anything more to do than the other dozens of wars in Palestine during the last two millenia.

Jehovah's Witnesses do no longer ought to 'instruct that the pronunciation "Jehovah" is one hundred% desirable suited' by using fact we never stated that it grow to be. "Jehovah" is the desirable-regular ENGLISH (and another languages) rendering of the Hebrew call YHWH, which grow to be written without vowels in the classic Hebrew texts. subsequently, no person is conscious precisely how the classic Hebrews stated the call, and "Yahweh" is in basic terms a wager, in accordance to the Anchor Bible Dictionary. "Jesus" isn't the Hebrew way that his call grow to be stated the two, yet it extremely isn't any deterrent to using "Jesus" as a acceptance. in fact, maximum names in the Hebrew Bible are stated in a distinctive way than the way we are saying them in English. yet it extremely is beside the point if our language in English, no longer Hebrew. The words approximately Jesus on the "bypass" are abbreviated as INRI, no longer YHWH. "Nazarene" grow to be slightly of the identify, requiring an "n." there is no "n" in YHWH. As for my Bible, I actual have and study many. certainly one of my in demand Bibles says this at Psalm 80 3:18: w'yed'u ki attah shimkha YHWH l'badekha 'elyon al kol ha'arets it extremely is the Hebrew textual content fabric. a lifelike translation may be, "and that they would recognize which you, whose call is YHWH {"Jehovah"), are on my own the main severe over each and every of the earth."
