My uncle once told me that you shouldn't just lie down aftere eating. So, does he have a point here?
Whats your take on this issue?

Yes, most docs will advise you sit up after eating to allow the food in your stomach to digest. Laying down, the food is still digesting and can run the risk of the acids traveling back up your esophogous and causing acid refluc or heart burn.

your uncle is right. You should do some light activity after eating like walking. The Sumo wrestlers have a routine where they work out 5 hours in the morning then have a gargantuan meal and then go to sleep for a while. Then they do little activity the rest of the day. They are huge. Also, from the Ayurveda, you should confine sleep to the time between 10pm and 6am. This allows you the maximum cellular detox period during the pita cycle 10pm to 2am and removal of waste to the eliminatiive organs 2am to 6am for elimination upon waking. IF you sleep during the day, you risk interrupting your nightly sleep activities.
Also, you risk the possibility that in the lying position, your gastric juices flowing from digestion pass back up the esophagus which may cause GERD and erodes your esophagus leading to cancer.
(This plus eating too much spicy food)

Well, maybe for him if he gets heartburn, indigestion or has acid reflux disease. Sitting up for a little bit after eating will prevent those things in people that have a problem with it.

For people with gastric reflux this is true. They tell you not to eat right before bed because it will make things worse. As for the general public, I don't know that it really matters.

If I eat and then take a nap right afterwards I wake up feeling gross so I think there's something to this.
