It depends on how you define "Persian". In its narrowest sense, Persian (Farsi) is the language only of Iran. But some linguists also consider Dari and Tajiki to be dialects of the same language ("Persian" in its broadest sense), in which case you must add Afghanistan and Tajikistan. These are the countries where "Persian" in its widest sense is a major language. Of course there are many countries where Persian is a minoritiy language.

Persian is an official language in two countries: Iran and Afghanistan.

It is the only official language of Iran, although Persians only make up roughly half of the population. Half of the population of Afghanistan are speakers of the Dari dialect of Persian. (Dari is a dialect of Persian. It is not a separate language.) It is one of two official languages of Afghanistan (the other being Pashtu).

Persian is spoken only in Iran and though the Afghans say they speak persian they are not right because there is a hell of a difference in their persian.They (Afghans) actually speak "DARI" which has many words of persian.

The area that was once Persia is now Iran and Iraq. Most people in the region speak Arabic. The ancient Persian language was Aramaic but few people speak it now.

One and thats iran. BUT if you mean farsi, afghanastan speaks a different form of it. THose are the only to countries which speak farsi. Iranian farsi would be persian.
