I don't. Rain is refreshing.

I like the rain. I Like to walk and talk with a friend in the rain. Sometimes it stops me from doing my laundry. (no point in hanging it out to get wetter!) so I can stay in and read without feeling guilty!
Psychiatrists would like us to believe it's a mental disorder - Seasonal Affective Disorder or SAD for short, because some people feel gloomy when it rains. Personally I think they've got their eye on the amount of money they can make from inventing a new disorder. (It's like the story of the Emperor's New Clothes - you see it because you believe it!) Will they invent a new disorder for the disgust people feel when they step into dog poo? Don't laugh, it's no sillier than most of their pronouncements!

When I feel sad it generally starts to rain. But then I don't feel bad when it rains becasue it is so relaxing and enchanting. I love rain and thunderstorms. It relaxes me. Which eases any tension or pain. When i'm through playing, i cuddle up under a blanket and go to sleep. No sadness involved.

As some one else has said you may have s.a.d. It is a form of depression that changes with the weather, or the amount of sunlight you get. Do you feel sad in winter? or when the time changes and it gets dark early? The sun acts as a serritonin builder. People with depression or s.a.d. have a lower amount of serrtonin in their brain. Just being out in the sun can help. Mine gets worse in the winter months. My Dr. ordered a perscription lamp that I sit under for about half an hour a day. Makes all the difference in the world! Just try to get out on sunny days even if its for a few minutes.

I love the rain when it comes down straight and heavy without wind. It is cool, refreshing and calming. If I am upset or in a bad mood it seems to lift me completely and I cannot maintain my sadness. It is especially great to go walking along the beach in the rain with the one you love.

There is a physical reason: usually before rain there is a drop in barometric pressure (atmospheric pressure) which causes animals, and it's theorized people too, to slow down. Most everyone has seen cows laying down in a field before a storm. Some people react to the 'slow down' as feeling down.

Physically sunshine, in a complicated physical hormonal cascade, helps us to be happy by causing the brain to release happy hormones - serotonin among them. It's very similar to the hormonal changes some people affected by SAD (seasonal affective disorder) experience.

Some people are affected by chagnes in light or the environment and some aren't --- emotions are very personal.

Anyone who poo-poos psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals who help people feel better, do a disservice to the people they help.

It doesn;t for me.

The earth we live on is being nourished! It was fun as a child to splash around in puddles and I just remember that and it makes me smile.

Don't get me wrong the sunshine makes me happy as well!

Its importnat not to let things outside of your control make you feel that way. You can get control over your emotions by turning a rainy day into a positive. All the wonderful food we eat grows because of rain. All of natures wonderful sights are there because of rain.I could go on and on....
