i had a dream last night where i was getting married. here is how it happened,

it started when me and my mom were picking out a wedding dress and i didn't really care for whatever dress she picked cause i disliked wearing dresses...so i said yes to a white one. Well anywayz i think i ended up in my cottage whitch i stayed in for the summer. Well it seems i was getting married there. So yeah i didn't know who the groom was and i had to stay in a room with some anime character...so yeah, i started getting into my dress when i found out it wasn't the white one, it was a slutty pink short little maid outfit, that was going to be my dress. ugh did i dislike pink so much. i really disliked the pink so i went to my mom and said 'why did it have to be the pink dress?' she said 'stop being a child and put on the dress to turn your groom on' i didn't seem very happy with my mother...

then i woke up. i don't really know what catergory to put this in so yeah

I think dreams have three different levels of meanings and times: one which reflects something concerete that happended the day before...perhaps you were watching anime and without realizing it a character was wearing a 'pink slutty outfit'. The second having to do with something much more interpretative from a week or so ago - perhaps you discussion with your mother about marriage. The third from much longer - years even: perhaps your struggle to separate yourself from your mother's expectations (getting the white dress to please her only to have the pink dress shoved on you instead).

I think it is telling your dream that there seems not to be any groom - almost as a way of saying that even though your dream is staged as a 'wedding', it's not really about getting married. Getting married is only a symbol of separating from your mother.

This gets me though, why does your mother want you to look like a slut 'to please your husband'? Do you secretely believe that is how your mother interacts with men and you don't want to be that way? (Because you don't want to wear the pink dress...)

Anyway, paraphrasing Freud, sometimes a cigar is just a cigar...only you know what you dreams really mean....

Maybe your brain is just working overtime in some disagreement you could have had with your mom, or the fact that you are looking forward to your future even though you aren't sure exactly what it holds. Your mom may help you make important decisions in your life, but your future seems to be one you should be more interested in and not just settle with what your mom said. You will have to live with your decisions,. so don't worry abou tpleasing others and get more in tune with what you want. AFTER ALL YOU SAID YOU DIDN'T CARE, AND THEN WHEN THE DRESS WAS PINK YOU WEREN'T HAPPY. Moral, if you don;t make decisions for yourself, you may be unhappy.

Sounds like alarm bells going off in your subconscious to me. Whoever the groom was you don't know him well enough...perhaps you don't know men well enough. Your mother is leading and directing you but in out of touch with the real world ...in this dream...definetly not in your best interest. She knows not what she's doing but she is doing something as she feels it is her job. She's superficial as well as artificial and her taste in everything concerning you is wrong, wrong, wrong.
