Are all animals like the doneky, able to think like us and could express things in words if they were only given the opportunity?

Bilaam spoke to animals very often. He "knew" this she-donkey VERY well, and "rode" her often. When she started talking he was more worried about what she might confess.

Like that old joke about the farmer and the ventriloquist.

"Pay no attention to that donkey - she's a liar!"

you know, baalam was as great in prophesy as was moses, just he went the 'other' way
so he probably understood animals anyway
anyway who says he wasn't surprised just because he answers about killing the donkey instead of saying WOW a talking donkey?
remember that he had others with him and being the superb showman that he was he probably covered up his surprise by displaying anger, which IS a very common way that human deal

oh yeah about the expressions of animals
im pretty sure that all animals think, just look at spider webs, bird nests, squirrels hiding nuts beaver dams etc lots of stuff even some humans can't do
but the talking is a god given privilege only for us human ...don't abuse it :)
