Call a suicide hot-line, a mental health expert, or a trusted friend or relative immediately. Don't act rashly to hurt yourself, you may feel better later and be glad you didn't hurt yourself. I know, I've had experience with depression and suicidal thoughts before and have not had them for a long time. I'm so glad I never followed through on those thoughts and feelings. My life is much better and I love myself a lot more and you can too. You can get help, feel better, and have a meaningful, fulfilling life. You have the ability to do that, even though things may seem hopeless. Your life is not hopeless, there is still hope while you still live. If you die, you squander that hope. Choose to make your life better by getting help. I chose to work hard to change my life and not give up no matter how I felt. You can't trust your feelings of depression that tell you that you have no reason to live. Feelings are so easily swayed by hormones, medication, and temporary setbacks. Get help from someone who can see things more clearly right now and who cares about you. They will not want to lose you and can help you see things from a new perspective. You do have a reason to live, you just need to discover it. Tell me how you are doing soon, please, I care about you and hope you don't hurt yourself.

If you need a reason to live, then look to other people for it. All around this world there are people who are much worse off than you are. I've found the best way to feel good about living is to do good things for other people, whether its putting money in expired parking meters, opening doors for people with packages, smiling at someone randomly, etc. If you want to go further, volunteer at the Salvation Army or nursing home. Good deeds create good feelings. And it never hurts to bring a little romance back into the world. Who knows- one of the people you smile at on the street could become your new best friend.

Go out and help someone. Find an elderly person and help them with yard work or other chores they can't do, find a stray cat or dog and give it a home or find it one, do something other than sit around and think about yourself. The first step to finding a reason to live to to think about other people.

There's always a reason. It may not be the greatest, but there's ALWAYS a reason.

The cute smile and that naughty wink of your avatar tells me that you have a reason to live...
