Possible remedies
There is debate about whether a hangover might be prevented or at least mitigated. The most important thing to remember though, is that there is no remedy for making yourself sober. Alcohol must be oxidized through the liver before it leaves your body, though breathing deep breaths will sometimes help it go down a bit faster since there is actually alcohol on your breath. A four page literature review in British Medical Journal on hangover cures by Max Pittler of the Peninsular Medical School at Exeter University and colleagues concludes: "No compelling evidence exists to suggest that any conventional or complementary intervention is effective for preventing or treating alcohol hangover. The most effective way to avoid the symptoms of alcohol induced hangover is to practice abstinence or moderation

a pint or two of water before falling asleep and one next to your bed, Valium is also damn good for removing all the nastiness of a hangover but depending on where you live it may not be available without prescription. If you are able to continue drinking the following day then bloody Mary's are the business for keeping your alcohol withdrawal from kicking in and also getting some nutrients back into the body.

depends on what yer drinking, Beer? My personal favorite.....Cure? Gatoraid, 1 full 8-12 OZ glass and teh headache goes away. The reason for this is with beer you dehydrate yourself causing a headache. Try it and in 3 minutes you will feel like you never had a hangover. With beer that is.

Take 2 Vitamin B12 and 2 Advils with a full glass of water before you go to bed. Also keep a glass of water or sprite next to you if you wake up in the middle of the night or morning. Then have something salty to eat in the morning (chips, chineese food, etc)

The honest to God answer is Sleep. If you can Sleep that will take care of it better than anything else! I have been soo hungover that sleep was not an option, and in that case, I too would like an answer.

Oh and also, if you are drinkin fluids, try Gatorade, it replace elctrolytes that you killed the night before. Water doesn't replenish your bodies salt like Gatorade either.

Stay drunk!

Kidding - drink lots of water and lukewarm fruit tea. Take an aspirin or two every 3-4 hours until the pain subsides.

Hangovers are due to dehydration - alcohol is a diuretic, which means it takes fluids from the body - so you can generally avoid them by drinking a glass of water with every beer/cocktail/glass of wine you have.

A banana and Gatorade mixed with egg yolk. A banana is a good source of Vitamin B6 which hastens metabolism, needed to purge the body of alcohol. Gatorade rehydrates and replenishes the body of lost nutrients while egg yolk contains cysteine, which processes acetaldehyde, the first and most toxic poison created by alcohol metabolism.

Before you go to sleep take a multivitamin, it will replenish the nutrians you lost from drinking (which causes the headach). You'll wake up the next day a little easier.
