Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Well just think of it this way: dogs probably won't go to heaven as they were jsut a creation to give us companionship on the earth, there will be much better thins than dogs in heaven.

She's my best friend, I can't imagine going to heaven and her not being there when I arrive!!! there's been much controversy over this... people try to say that dog's don't think like we do and that they don't have souls... who are they to say that?? I think when we get to heaven, life will be similar to earth and that includes dogs and cats, etc. will be there... There just won't be any phones ringing or bills to pay :)

I should hope so, but you'll never know, will you? It's the same as asking do cats go to heaven or do monkeys go to heaven. I don't see why it should be any different for dogs. And I don't see why they wouldn't, either,

To those that say "no", I say you are arrogant to think that only humans have souls. I would say that if any creature makes it to heaven it would be dogs. They love you without reason. They are always loyal. They never lie. They are always there for you when you're down. There are very few humans who meet these standards.
^^^^^ Exactly. I agree totally! EVERY GOOD THING GOES TO HEAVEN!
