YES!
I've seen it sone many times.
Truly, you can do whatever you want. I've seen two maids, a maid and a matron, an occasional "man of honor", two best men, no maids of honor and no best men...

Of course. Your sister since she is married would be called Matron of Honor and then your close single friend would be called maid of honor. Typically the Matron of Honor would stand closest to the bride. But of course you can do as you want. Good luck and congrats on your upcoming wedding. That is always exciting

It's you wedding and you can have exactly what you want. A friend of mine had a best women instead of a best man so I can't see why you shouldn't have 2 maids of honour.

My sister had 3!! At first it seems odd but then hey they were all best friends so why leave them out? It's your day and if you want to honor both women then do it. Who cares what other people think, this is special between you and the two girls! Your sister would feel honored that you included her. I have two best friends (they are actually twin sisters) and the three of us are peas in a pod and they are both going to be mine...I couldn't imagine picking!! They are going to walk down the isle together. It's you and your hubby's day, have it anyway you want!! Good Luck

Yes there is such a thing as Co-maid of honors. Your friend would be the Maid of Honor and your sister, the Matron of Honor.

Yes you can!
I am having a Maid and a Matron of honor. I live in TN, and one of my Best friends lives in Cali and the other here in TN. There was no way I could choose between them.
It's your wedding, you can do whatever you want to do!

I've heard of Groom's having two Best Men, so you should be able to have two Maids of Honour.

I didn't think so. I think you get one Maid of Honor and up to several Bride's Maids... but what do I know about marriage...Never a groom, never a groomsman.
Maybe you could have two Maids of Honor, but they'd each only get to wear half of the gown... I'll let you decide how to split it between them. :-)

To use these words in their traditional sense. Maid of Honor = an unmarried lady; Matron of honor = a married lady.
Sure, I think, you can choose to use both of them in this honorary position. Just be aware that it would be unusual/uncommon - therefore, somebody will talk.
Also: you will still have to choose which one stands closest to you.
