Take your mind off of it by occupying yourself with something else.

Use this time to study the English language.

You may learn things such as:

All sentences should have the first letter of the first word capitalized.

When referring to yourself it is proper to use a capital "I" not a lower case "i" as you did.
This also goes for the word "I'm" not "i'm" as you did.

The past tense for the word "give" is "gave"

Sentences are separated by a space not just punctuation.

Punctuation follows a sentence and should not be separated from the sentence with a space.

There is no such word as "pls".

When I quit smoking 6 years ago, I also started woeking out a lot. I found it very motivating because the longer I stayed away from cigarettes, the better shape I got into. Try running/jogging, this will give you the most dramatic results over time. The added benefit to this of course is that it ensures that you don't gain a ton of weight (a natural response to any addiction). When you're not working out, keep a BIC pen handy to chew on and twirl with your fingers (I still do this all the time, it REALLY helps curb the physical addiction). As a back up, carry some gum too, it helps manage cravings when you can't grab a pen (like in a movie theatre). Hope this helps, and hang in there, you can beat this!

Hold out until the same time the day after tomorrow. I have a whole load of information on this, and have helped others, but unfortunately I am going to be travelling until Thursday. If you hold out then post the same question again I will come back with some suggestions. Holding out for a short time is often easier than a long time, as it is a nice clearly defined goal. I can also recommend "the easy way to give up smoking" which comes both as books and tapes (probably DVD too by now). I know several people who have used it successfully and none who have used it and failed. More when I hear you made it to Thursday.

You *can* do it,
Rufus

Go for a walk, or swim, just do something to distract your mind from the craving.
You're into it a week now and more than half the battle is over, don't give up! You're doing a good thing!
I walked a lot when the cravings hit it worked well at distracting me away from them. Reading also helped, and long hot baths or showers. It put me in a situation where I didn't want one even when I did smoke.
Good Luck!

cravings are caused by triggers
To lessen the pain of no nicotine - avoid all activities, areas, foods and ppl that you would have normally associated w/ smoking
I know this is hard b/c smoking is allowed w/ most activities & friends & after meals
But if you start a new routine that you never had while you were smoking, it will be a bit less of a struggle everyday
Try new activities to replace old habits or move the furniture around so you're not looking at the same cues/triggers

Stay the course, this wave will pass... Drink lots of water and do the gum thing or what ever seems to ease the craving. I think you are at a turning point, don't give up. You'll bump into these little walls from time to time as you keep up your program but you'll get stronger as time passes. Good luck!!

Substitution will work for the short term until the craving is no longer there. Occupy your mind with other pleasant things. Occupy your hands and mouth with something healthy like carrot sticks or celery or cucumber. Don't substitute candy or ice cream. That will become a problem.

Be Strong! Get some exercise, chew gum, but don't obsess about smoking. The cravings will pass! What you're experiencing now is psychological, not physical.

Good luck!

It it comes back to your mind.
Just think you have gone this length of time you can go farther!!
You may go through times of pain where you think it cannot get any worse fix your mind on to the end result it will bring you through.

Just think of the money you will have saved to be able to do something you have dreamed of.!!
All comes back to a thought can make or break you!!

As weird as it sounds try to find a lollipop. It's the association of hand to mouth movement. If you can't find one, the next best thing is a toothpick.
