welck-today I read in the papers that it has imposed full Islamic laws in one of its provinces. So what happens to equality to other religions.

For example; let's take the biggest Islamic population in the world namely Indonesia.
Politically; despite sporadic ethnic and economic struggle, caused by the Dutch and Japanese occupation, it has become a fully democratic country. In the province of Aceh there is Islamic law as an adjunct to national law, but noone can or will be prosecuted of breaking Islamic law as is decreed by it's religious leaders.
Culturally; It has been able to peacefully coexist with the three other major religions namely Boedhism, Hinduism and Taoism. Also it is a country which fully supports freedom of religion.
Economically; Jakarta, Surubaya and Yogyakarta have become major trading hub with the possibility for any foreign and domestic company to invest or startup.
In short, a very long yardstick ;)
PS: You cannot generalize. Christians in Thailand differ from those in Japan or the USA. Every country has it extremists. Only problem with Muslim extremists, is that they are willing to travel. It has nothing to do with the muslim people in general, many of which are just trying to get by and be good people.

Wow, people on this q can sure jump to conclusions. I don't think he is making a statement against all Muslims, it sounds to me like he is asking opinions. That is wrong?
For me, I don't trust the religion or the people who follow it. Before I get slammed, let me explain why:
What my country is doing in Iraq, I don't understand or agree with. Here, people protest daily about it and are trying to get our troops home.
When a Danish newspaper printed cartoons that Muslims did not like, they violently protested in the streets all over the world. You see no protests of any kind when a reporter is beheaded and it is put on the internet. You see no protests of any kind when an "Islamic organization" invades another country and kidnaps it's citizen. You see no protests when an Islamic state (Iran) calls for the systematic death of an entire population (Israel).
Muslims claim to want peace, but I never see them protest the actions of the members of their faith. NEVER. So why would I think that they don't support the terrorists? The owner of one of my (former) favorite restaurants has been linked to sending millions overseas to terrorists.
I believe in peace and I believe in people having freedom. I speak out against the wrongs done by those who represent me in the world... Where do I see this from followers of Islam?
I beg someone to show me where it is, because until I see something, I won't trust.
P.S. Indonesia has had its share of terrorist bombings... primarily in resort areas frequented by Westerners and Aussies. Muslim groups claimed responsibility for them.

this is an interesting question ..... i disagree , if you are pointing out that all Muslims are terrorists and not peaceful then again we need to define terrorism it when you bomb ppl for mere greed , or is it when you resist belligerent powers against a land that is not rightly owned by invader .......... what do you think of Christians let us say mmmmmmm during the crusades and what do you call Jews when they turned the Romans against Christan's ......
everything goes in a cycle , nothing stays the same

The women of Islam are subservient slaves,
they are the property of their fathers or husbands
or brothers and are kept covered up because
their men know that other men look at beauty
and the men are machismo driven in control
men.

You're first assumption is wrong. No religion can be equated to its people...all people are fallible.
Now, depending on your view of what "religion" is, you could take this a step further. If all people are fallible, then all "religions" are fallible. Depending on your definition of "religion", I might agree. However, there is one thing true about all "religion" - there is a God, He must be worshiped.
