Hey, this is your child. You do what you need to do to ease your mind. If your physician tells you nothing is wrong without even seeing the child, I'd have a problem with that. Diareaha is a very dangerous condition not only for children, but for us as well. And if he has it for 2,3,or 4 days, then something IS wrong!

3 or 4 days of diareaha, can lead to dehydration and exhaustion which could lead to additional problems.

I have all the respect in the world for doctors, but sometimes you just have to use your parental instinct and do what YOU feel is right. I'd take him to the hospital. The worst they can say is nothing is wrong. But if something is wrong...............!

I was just wondering, why eye medication? How's it related to diarrhea? Aside from giving your baby plenty of fluids, be sure also to give him/her some oral rehydration salts. These are mixed with water. If it has been 4 days already, better take your child to the hospital. We parents should not put our baby's life on the line. Sometimes, it also pays to see another doctor, a pediatrician.

By the way, is your baby teething? If yes, that's only normal. However, if you really think it's out of the ordinary for your baby to be having diarrhea, as we've said (other answerers) seek a medical advice. There's nothing to lose.

Be sure your baby is getting plenty of fluids. Pedialyte is an excelent drink for sick babies. It replaces nutrients that are lost when a baby has diarehha. Don't let it go on too lond, small babies are at a higher risk of dehydration.

if you are uncomfortable with the your doctor's advice, get a second opinion from another doctor. (That could be a hospital doctor)

Yes, take him in. Dehydration is a real threat.
