drug addicts of all sorts tend to get on well with other drug addicts.
the notion that smoking a cigarette is more 'fun' than (say) a walk round the tate modern will - i suppose - make sense to some people.

Taking up smoking doesn't make you more interesting, it makes you stink like an ashtray and skint because it costs so much. Drinking can make you relaxed and cheerful, although you will have a tendency to talk boll*cks and think you are much more interesting and fun loving person than you really are. Still if you ask me, drinking is worth the risk.

You shouldnt worry about what people think when it comes to your health
I quit smoking, and drink very rarely, its a lifestyle choice, and i choose not to add onto my already high chances of cancer, 1 in 3 people have cancer in their life, you would think peopple would try to minimise their chances.
Also people should wear sun screen more often, your skin is your biggest organ, and if you get skin cancer u r fooked!
I prob sound well boring but i want to live my life to the full for as LONG as possible, i dont need drink, drugs and smokes to do that!

I drink because I like to. I don't smoke generally, because I don't like to. (I sometimes chain smoke when I drink heavily, but that's a rarity).
Life is about choices you make.
So please make your own choices, don't bother what other people believe or think of you. If people truly value you, they will value you for what you are, not what you appear to be.
Choose to smoke or not, to drink or not based on your own set of values, not on other people's perceived set. Try it if you want, and if you don't like it, don't smoke/drink, if you do, then decide whether it's worth it, since you mention the risks of cancer.

Dude, i think youve got issues. You are clearly insecure deep on the inside and that radiates outwards to the way you think and your behaviour. If you can understand and change the inside to something wholly positive then that will radiate and people will feel more positive about you, and you wont feel like you have to risk your life to get noticed. The help is out there. If you really want it you will search and find it.

Not any more and I speak as a hardened smoker and drinker and I wish I could give up smoking there's nothing to recommend being a smoker except for the fact that you won't be one of those annoying non-smokers coughing pathetically at people who smoke.

No just silly and drunk. Did you know that your fingers can drop off because of smoking or that you sometimes have to have parts amputated because smoking can cause gangrene in your body. How fun loving would you be then?

I think people who smoke are just asking for lung cancer, so I'm sorry but no it doesn't make you look interesting, it makes you look like you don't value your life.
I admire people who decide to give it up and are able to achieve this goal. It can't be easy.
I also want to bash people who smoke and blow their poisonous fumes within 100 metres of my kids.

Smoking is anti social, drinking is social. It is up to you, but when your time is up it's up regardless of smoking or drinking so just enjoy life.

I smoke - and although I enjoy my habit I don't think of anyone who doesn't smoke as less fun loving just healthier!
I would love not to smoke (my quit day is the 31st of august) so please don't start.
