Feed it to a cat, (or a dog if you're a cat-lover) if the cat dies, it's poisoned.

if you mean poison as in ptomain or something its usually in the taste and/or smell of the food. if you mean poisoned as in someone put something in the food in intentions of killing then i dont think theres any way to tell unless its with something your allergic to , usually the only way to tell is with a chemical in the forensics...

If you suspect something isn't right with the food in front of you, don't eat it. You can never be sure if it is poisoned, or not, unless you get it analyzed.

if its milk products you can notice fungus on the top, if its other food you can smell it.
