Try soda - Coke or Mountain Dew have caffeine in them. Root Beer and Sprite 7Up do not. Also, tea has cafffeine (not green tea though). Get up and do jumping jacks - I used to do this when I would drive at night and was getting tired. Also, just getting up from where you are and taking quick walks throughout the day.

Don't drink/eat too much sugar/carbs by themselves early in the day - you'll only crash harder and be sleepier. Try eating a mix of carbs and protein.

Try to avoid caffeine, it will stay in your system and make your insomnia even worse. Since you are up now, try taking a sudafed, it will help keep you awake. Tonight if you have trouble sleeping try some sleepy time tea before bed or a benadryl.

Try going to bed at 9 or 8:30 PM and wake up at around 5, 5:30 or even 6 AM. But mostly its sheer will power that does it. But also moving around to get your blood pumping helps too.
