Speaking as someone who has curly, thick, red hair, It is the weight that flattens it. The best shampoo and conditioner I could find was Herbal Essences and to use John Frieda Frizz Ease gel because it softens the hair.
You can go to Herbal Essences website and pick which shampoo and conditioner for your hair type before you actually buy it.
The best solution I can actually find is a combination of these and to have layers cut in my hair. They can cut them as long layers, but it gives more body to the hair and it will lighten the load you carry (so to speak)
Also, it is normal to lose up to 125 hairs each day as part of normal "shedding" process and too much styling product left in your hair can cause it to be lifeless and dull. Some people will recommend a clarifying shampoo, but you can give your hair an extra cleaning by just adding about a tablespoon of baking soda (more or less depending on lenghth and thickness) when you wash your hair.

I have attempted bantu knots too while I was once transitioning additionally. When i took it down many folks instructed me how a lot they cherished it. But for me I did not find it irresistible. My hair got here out due to the fact I simply am no longer satisfactory with handling traditional hair. I simply flat iron my hair aboutt each 2 weeks. Sometimes i simply throw it in a bun. Going traditional does not neccessarily imply it is going to develop. I have a buddy who hair was once shoulder period and he or she will get perms and her hair is such a lot longer now! Because she looks after it and takes a few vitmins. If you wanna cross traditional cross traditional! I simply did not purpose I simply do not appear proper.

You may need to cut your dead hair; trim your hair and cut your split ends. The split and dead ends are causing the breakage.
