Do you think a forum such as yahoo answers can be of any value to us gaining clearer perceptions of one another? .. I am not interested in converting to any religion ... but I am hugely interested in our understandings of one another .. Pures answer here was of interest to me:http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AjlEs0P7J6rN6knQD5XW6Gzsy6IX?qid=20060801024814AAJa09Z

ZEZO: where are you from..what do you think?

2006-08-01 00:04:08 · update #7

I see "Love Is Great" ..there can be distortions in our medias ..
Some of our media tries to be reliable .. but something like a "Pat Roberts" broadcast can grab a single incident in a single country .. then actually distort the details .. and with that distortion then say it is "a general way " in Islamic coutries... like even though CNN is far from perfect .. still I wouldn't think I would see that there .. but a blurb gets on the net .. and everyone is like a rumor mill .. to me the view towards the crime of rape in your country sounds similar to mine (and it isn't essential that we all be exactly the same ) but that "it is a detestable crime - and that in your county's practices .. they aren't making it excessively hard for a woman to prove she has been a victim .. if I understand you correctly .. I am also curious where your country is? .. but sharing that is your choice- as you please .. TY for your explanations ..

ichi.. when the Iraq War started...CNN would broadcast long Aljeezra broadcasts here(with English translation)...and they had done this as the Afghanistan conflict commenced ..
They(CNN) suddenly announced they couldn't as government alleged it might be used to communicate to cells here ..
So we're just blacked out to it..

I think it's bogus .. I was fascinated by it .. I'm not so weakminded as to convert to whatever I see.. but I want the right to see and evaluate all perspectives .. I am curious...in UK, can you guys see translations of its broadcasts at times?

You like this question? Well I LOVE IT!

I totally agree with you on FOX, CNN, and Al Jazeera TV.

I think Yahoo! Answers is a great source of sharing knowledge and information from people around the world. We are delivering our messages everyday to one another.. giving opinions, away from censorship and having the freedom of speech. I checked your profile and like one of your questions about the existence of the State of Israel... ALAS, it was resolved... I just wanted to paste you a link that you may want to check:

http://www.nkusa.org/

I also posted a note for you in the question that inspired you to write this one.

I really admire your open mindedness and honesty on the issue.

When you hear from other people with different perceptions, you may get new views and ideas... and understand more about other people's cultures and way of thinking....

I try hard on Yahoo! Answer to let people know the difference between the two; culture and religion. I also try so hard to show that the acts of radicals, fanatics, and extremists doesnt really represent a whole religion! They can be cowards hiding behind the image of religion, and brainwashing others into believing idiotic ideas!

THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting such a smart question... I really appreciate it.

In my opinion it is better that we learn from each other than from the professional lie outfits known as the mainstream media. FOX, CNN, MSNBC, SKY, BBC and all the newspapers have an agenda and they all lie to further it.

If they told the truth, then the election fraud in 2004 would have been top of the news, 911 would have been investigated properly and the ridiculous conspiracy theories put to bed once and for all. the global banking scam would have been exposed and we all could live in a free democratic society. (we do not now, that is another lie the media pushes)

The internet is a fantastic tool for discovering truth, but you must have a discerning mind and check your sources and make sure you can collaborate and corroberate on your information.

I have learned more about Islam, Judaism, Chritianity, Taoism, etc. from genuine adherent's than I have by watching lies on the mainstream media.

Sure islamofascists exist, as do christian fundementalist's and zionist jewish extremists, and I know which one I am most fearful of. but what the media do not tell you is who funds these people and what role the western securty services still have in funding and training extremists and (terrorists/freedom fighters).

It matters not whether a republican or a democrat is in the Whitehouse. The people actually running the show, will enact their agenda through the media anyway.

Excellent question...

Aljeezra is gaining some heavy weight support in England....Sir David Frost (one of our most respected newscasters) has just agreed to become a lead spokes person for them which is a very brave move (he has been pilloried for it to a degree)..but it is testimony to the fact that it is not a silent voice in the world's press.

CNN & FOX have long been viewed with suspicion in England too, our press is a little more centred (rather than to the left or right as the US's seam to be)...however we have a tendency of choosing what stories we go for with an agenda in mind, then reporting it fairly which makes the british press as guilty as everyone else...

In my opinion, as all press is selective in what it publishes, I use all of it; try to ascertain when the media is scewing the answer due to whatever agenda based philosophy they support and then attempting to wade through crap and pick the bones of what the original stories and truth truly is...

Aljeezra is just as relevant as the others for this matter, but purely for my own interlectual exercise...

In truth, Yahoo answers however, does not fulfil this: the people who use it miss the original point of it's inception...I only started using it when I saw Steven Hawkings was asking question...giving it a validity in my mind....however, once I saw he had 25000 answers, I figured that the point was lost...no one will read that many answers...so I got silly!

Nah...........people don't really come here to enlighten themselves. It's all these shitheads seeking to put the others down , and religion is will probably remain as a form of diffrentiation among human race, so if we fail to understand the inherent similarity in all religions it's gonna get ugly.

But i have had some meaningful encounters with some really nice folks. whether it be athiests or christians or wicca or whatever, i don't really care, i do keep an open mind and reevaluate my values with each discourse.

religious friction ain't all that bad . it is fun. At least we know we can work out our issues on the netwithout having our opponents dropping bombs on our lawns!

in the end all forms of beleifs are mostly dogmatic, we are all equally stupid..............

Thanks! I hope we all learn from each other. But what about my answer? You need more info or what?Oh! Yes it's different! Rape can be proved by any other methods, but witnesses are still valid. And as I said its punishment is harsh. Nevertheless, in where I live Islamic laws, unfortunately, are only applied to things connected to: Marriage and divorce, inheritance and similar things. Adultery and so on, are under laws taken from other countries like UK and France. Where imprisonment takes place.
