My hair is breaking like really really bad. And I was thinking of cutting it and growing it all again. But I don't know how to take care of low cut hair and how to help it grow strong again. What should I do?

If I decide to cut it low, should I just cut it all off or cut it shorl and leave some hair?

Unless you are completely sure you want to cut your hair low then do it but if not, wash your hair weekly, using a leave in conditioner and limit your usage of styling combs, as the heat will cause you hair to continue to break. I would also suggest getting your hair trimmed and cutting your split ends about every six weeks. Remember to use daily moisturizers so your hair won't become dry and break. I highly recommend trimming your hair and cutting your split ends, keeping your hair moist, and limiting the amount of heat you put in your hair.

You're probably over-washing your hair. Black people don't need to wash it everyday because our hair is dryer and our scalp isn't really oily like most white people's scalps. You can still get it wet in the shower just don't shampoo it everyday. Wash your hair once or twice a week. On the days that you do wash it, condition it well! I usually condition my hair, then I put a towel on my conditioned hair for about an hour then I rinse. I also use moisturizers in my hair like Pink oil moisterizer and just wear my hair out. Also it's good to give your hair a break from products once a week and wear it completely natural. Also don't tie it up everyday it could break just from that if your hair is really brittle.

Threre are a few products like Kolesterol (I think it's spelled with a K, but I could be wrong!) and Hair Food that can help. Try a leave-in conditioner, too.

If you get your hair cut, be sure to ask the stylist's advice, too.

Your mom might also have good advice if her hair is similar to yours.

Good luck!

cutting your hair low and maintaining it with cleansing and moisturization is one way to deal with breakage. but if don't want to cut your hair might want to wash your hair about once a week, use a leave-in conditioner, use moisterizers that are lotion based and not hair oil based, and go light on styling products.

also if you keep your hair in styles that pull on your hair, like braids and pony tails, then stop. it will break your hair off even more. and if you use heat to style your hair, only use it once a week because it makes you hair dry and brittle and helps to break it off

PROTEIN PROTEIN PROTEIN. your hair lacks strength. if you go to a professional salon (depending on where u live) and ask them if they have any conditioning treatments available to get your hair back into shape. u need to add protein back into your hair. ask them to suggest products for at home use. a good line is redken. the Extreme (dark blue) line is a good one. within it is a product called anti-snap. use it only once a week until your hair has gotten back to normal. another thing if you r using the protein line, it makes your hair feel stiff and crunchy so use moisterizing products as well as the protein. good luck
