10 Hangover Cures

Bloody Mary
The best all-round cure in my opinion - the combination of vitamin-rich tomato juice, alcohol and spice works wonders. Into a shaker ½ filled with ice add a large (50ml) shot of vodka (pepper vodka, such as Absolut Pepper is a good choice), 200ml of tomato juice, Tabasco (between 2 and 10 dashes, depending on your chilli tolerance), 2-3 dashes of Worcestershire sauce, a teaspoon of horseradish sauce, a dash of port or red wine, the juice of ¼ of a lemon, and a quick grind of salt and pepper. Shake and strain into an ice-filled highball. Garnish with a small stick of celery. The Lobby bar at One Aldwych is a great Bloody Mary venue (further info).

Prairie Oyster
A fairly fearsome concoction - some people may find it hard to stomach, but its reputation as a cure-all treatment is well founded. Separate an egg into yolk and white, and add the white to a tumbler. Add a small measure of brandy, a hefty dash of both Tabasco and Worcestershire sauce, a dash of malt vinegar, a splash of tomato juice, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir vigorously, and then carefully add the yolk, without breaking it. The idea is to down the whole thing, swallowing the yolk whole.

Can of Coke & Three Nurofen
Straightforward hangover cure that appeared in the Observer a few months ago. As its inventor pointed out, if a child of 12 is allowed 2 tablets, surely it's ok for a fully-grown adult to take 3! (er, best check with you doctor first - Ed.)

Fernet-Branca
This very popular Italian digestif is exceedingly good at soothing your stomach and enhancing your health generally. Daniel Farson, the legendary Soho boozer was a firm believer in its medicinal properties. Try a small splash of the stuff over ice.

Fried breakfast
A fine British tradition. This will usually take the form of a plate of cheap'n'cheerful sausage, eggs and bacon in a café, as most people aren't organised enough to stock the required ingredients. If you do choose to make the effort, I'd recommend using dry cured bacon, free-range eggs and quality sausages. If you want someone else to do it for you then pop into the North Star (further info - review) - they do a hangover special, served with a big Bloody Mary. Bootiful…

Rassol
Rassol is the preferred hangover treatment in Russia. It is basically salty water that has been used to boil cabbage. Apparently it's very healthy…

Lemon Slices
Rub lemon slices under your armpits! This is supposedly a top holistic hangover cure.

Ginger Tea
A Chinese remedy for the common cold, but ginger's stomach-settling properties make it eminently suitable for tackling hangovers. Chop a golf ball-sized chunk of fresh ginger into small pieces, and boil for twenty minutes. Then strain into a mug, add sugar or honey to taste, and drink it down hot.

NAC
N-acetyl-cysteine is an amino acid supplement sold in health food stores. It reputedly helps "mop up" free radicals that build up in the liver as it breaks down alcohol. Kill two birds with one stone - cure your hangover, and impress your friends with your scientific knowledge.

Water
The simplest, and oldest hangover remedy. Down two pints before you fall asleep, if you can manage it. Otherwise, start gulping as soon as you wake up!

Erectile Dysfunction can be devastating to men, and unfortunately, millions of men suffer from the condition. Learn how to cure erectile dysfunction https://tr.im/3VO75

If you go to the doctor to talk about the issue, you’re likely to get put on one or more of the popular medications used to treat the condition. While they can be effective (temporarily), these medications come with a raft of side effects, some of which are decidedly unpleasant. Even worse, these medications aren’t really a cure, they’re more like a temporary workaround.

Worst of all, they tend to be really expensive. Month after month, you’re having to pay to work around your condition. That’s what the Big Pharmaceutical companies want.

Painkillers, liquid, sugar and vitamin c. My personal combination is Solphadine (the worlds finest all round pain killer), a can of red bull and whatever fruit is in the house. Fresh oranges work wonders. Unfortunately, for the really bad ones there is no cure. Take the above and then go lie down in a dark, cold room.

drink as much water as you can before going to bed.

eat. anything like bread. pizza etc something that will soak up the alcohol. also lots of water to stop the headaches but also something that will replace lost sugars like a fruit juice.

if you smoke, then dont smoke the day after a night out (or try and smoke very little)

take 2 headache tablets when you first wake up.

and finally sleep. make sure you have an early night

A nice sold sweating beer and tripe soup with loads if garlic, vinegar and grated hot peppers in. Tripe soup is a common cure for hangover on the Balkans (Eastern Europe), it is usually taken in the morning and where I come from it nessecarily goes with beer, bread is optional and helps if you are also hungry, but your tummy otherwise feels bad.
