in the koran i read verses like this
kill infidels where ever you find them
never take non muslims as friends

do muslims actually take these verses as literal truths? do you adopt them in your daily life?
if the answer is yes then what type of a world will this turn out to be?

What you are reading my dear is not the Koran. I strongly suggest you go buy the real koran and read it throughly, you wont be finding any of the stuff you just wrote in your quesiton.

yes it is true but i don't know any body that kill
infidels in Kuwait
you can have any friend you want but not infidels i have many non Muslim friends
the main thing is that you have to believe in god
don't listen to those who tell you that Muslims are the worst people im not saying we are the best people thats cause they don't under stand what they read from the Koran and teach it to others like they understood it

You are probably misinterpreting the verses.
I am a Muslim and it is true that OVER 95% of Muslim are just trying to go through life just like everybody else. Muslim's are not different than you or anyone else. Just because a person has a different religion doesn't mean that he or she don't face day to day dilemmas like relationship problems, financial obligations, what to wear, where to go out for fun etc... Especially Muslim teenagers. A vast majority do travel, go on dates, go clubbing and throw parties, wear the most fashionable clothes etc.. Is that your idea of terrorists? I think not. The way media portrays Muslim's in general is sad and completely not true. The media only represent a small minority of people who misunderstand the true meaning of Islam (the religion of piece).
Muslim's are taught in their religion to respect and be polite to EVERYONE (including non-Muslims)
I have many non-Muslim friends (Christians) and to me I never differentiate between friends based on their religion.
In Islam, we respect people of the holly books like the bible and Torah whether we take them as friends, acquaintances or colleagues.

sory but if you hold one leg of elephant ant and then say that is elephant you may be wrong If you read Quran thoroughly inshallah you will see that there are other verses like "God FORBIDS you not against those who warred not against you on account of religion and drove you not out from your country, that you should show them kindness and deal jaustly with them..."(60:8) ... etc. On the other hand we are not like Christians there is no such saying that if somebody hits you turn other side of your face rather in our religion if somebody make a bad thing to you, you have right to ask justice but if you forgive you can forgive the mistake for yourself, and this is highly recommended (if you forgive someone's mistake, God forgives your mistake) but if bad thing done to your people(no need to give example especially nowadays) you have not right to forgive ALL THE BEST:)

I'm muslim and i have lots of non-muslim friends. My muslim family and friends have never had any ill-will toward non-muslims.

I know that strictly speaking, if someone who was raised as a Muslim decided to convert to another religion then his/her family and friends would have to disown him. I've never actually witnessed that in real-life though (my dad has relatives who converted to Christanity and we haven't cut any of them off).

I don't think lots of muslims take these as literal truths in this day and age. It purely depends on the society you were raised in (which becomes more of a cultural issue than a religious one).
