I like dogs better too, but they fit my life better. I would rather get off th couch and go outside with the dogs to play catch or go for a walk. I have also had a cat that went bad or was bad, I got him from the pound and for no reason he would attack, claws out, hair standing and you would have to peel this cat off your head. Since I got him as an adult, I have no idea what happened to him before (if anything) to make him like that. Sometimes he was very loving and sometimes he would pounce on your head for no reason. I've only had one cat since then and it wasn't a head pouncer - however, I always have dogs, I get them young and have never had one of my dogs turn on a human. I have two shepherds that my young nieces and nephews like to try to ride them and the dogs do nothing (except maybe sit down so they don't have to carry the child).
I will say this though I would rather pick up crap after my dogs than have to clean a cat box daily - that is much worse.

One cat is no sample. I have had both a cat and a dog, and I love having both (but as I work long hours and tend to come home late and too tired, it's a cat for me right now, and I love him; I would be depriving the dog of too much attention and walking that he needs, it wouldn't be fair to any dog).
It's not a FACT, it's a personal preference. Dogs seem more affectionate, but are more demanding, and have strange habits (like, prowling through the garbage if left alone longer than they wish). Cats are a bit more reserved, or indpendent, but are very clean and careful. Both have pros and cons.

Cats are purrfect at being cats but I wouldn't expect to see half a dozen of them playing with a ball on the beach.
Dogs make grrreat dogs but I wouldn't expect one to climb trees or be able to retract his claws.
I have had cats and dogs all my life. I've never taken a cat out for a walk and I certainly wouldn't want my German Shepherd to curl up on my knee while I watch the TV.
I honestly don't know why you bother to compare cats with dogs - they are two totally different species with different lifestyles and attributes.
A major difference between them is that dogs give what seems to be, in human terms, love, devotion and loyalty.
Cats, on the other hand, expect these things from us and give very little of themselves in return.
It could be that some inadequate human is only happy when his dog regards him as a hero and therefore boosts his barely existent ego whereas the same loser cannot cope with the apparent rejection or indifference displayed by his cat.
A well-balanced person can see all the pros and cons of cats and dogs and have respect and admiration for both species.

Not all all! It really depends on what you want in a pet.
Cats are mainly around the house and sit on your lap. They are more for people who want to relax. Also you can be out all day and the cat wont mind at all as long as you feed it!
A dog is for a more active person that has time to walk it every day and give it exercise. It could also be a nuisance and bark all night and keep everyone awake! It needs to be with people a lot of the time.
So you see, it depends on the owner. Cats and dogs are both great!

I hate to be the first to break this to you on this board, but,
Cats are far more discerning with regards to human character.
Cats will not put up with just anyone. One must prove themselves worthy of a cat's attention and affection, although they will occasionally deign to favor you with their attentions. Cats will respect your space, and expect the same of you, but have a sense for your emotions.
Cats don't smell each other backsides, hump your guests legs, or roll around in dead carcasses. Nor do cats "go bad". Have you ever heard of an house cat mauling a small child.
Dogs desperately need reassurance, approval and acceptance, and will demean themselves to anyone, no matter how despicable.
So, unfortunately, a dog's affection is no reflection on your self worth.
PS
From some anonymous source:
Cats were worshipped as Gods in ancient Egypt. They have never forgotten this.

I mean i like both cat's and dog's but i can sort of understand what you are saying! Dogs are more enjoyable to have around they play with you, they greet you happily after a hard day at work they give you company when you are lonely basically you are never alone as long as you have your dog by your side. Cats are colder they will only cuddle up to you if they want to something and they don't make very good companions!

A CAT , does what it wants when it wants ,doesn't feel the need to please. A DOG , loves nothing more then to make you happy . A DOG has worked with humans for thousands of years to help each other eat and survive. A CAT just sits and watches and then when the food runs out they move on to the next place of shelter

Isn't it the kind of person you are? I love cats, they're not demanding, easy, only want the occasional cuddle and regular food and drink.
Dogs want/need walks. In the snow and ice, no matter if you feel sick, broke your ankle or whatever. Out you have to go.
I have the best of both worlds. My Yorkie fits through the cat flap so can play for hours in the garden.

I am an animal lover and I am crazy about dogs especially
however, I dont think cats are 'crap'... they are just a different species than dogs.
cats are more self dependent, they do not crave and beg for love and attention.. their instincts are to protect themselves, look out for their own needs...
whereas the dogs who have evolved through centuries to be tamed are more inclined towards protecting the owner and being loved all the time...
the difference in their nature does not make cats bad....

Thats your opinion and I have mine. I am a cat person not too much of a dog person because I wasn't allowed to have dogs until recently. If you can't love a cat then take it to a humane society or something. The cat deserves better.
