I think when somebody doesn't look you in the eye, that's an indication of dishonesty. Or, kind of shuffling around and not standing still. Or if the story is too detailed and seems like it's being made up as he goes along.
Body language is a good sign.

There are alot of chicks out there that won't believe the truth, so why would they believe a lie? The idea is to find a girl who's pretty trusting, but also work on your lying. If you can look someone in the eye and lie to their face, that's a really good start. Practice the lie in your head, and as the other guy said, go with as few details as possible. The bigger you make the story, the better chance you will screw it up and she will catch on to some itsy bitsy detail you messed up on the second go around. It also helps to believe the lie.
It's not so much that women are better at telling if a guy is lieing, men are just as good. But women are better at hiding the truth. If men were as good as hiding the truth, women would not be able to tell as well as they do. Just get better!
