Does anyone have ppl that you are "friends" with, but they hate your pets? i personally try to avoid those ppl, but i've had a couple of pet owning freinds say something about non-pet owning (or pet liking for that matter) friends that always complain about their animals.
i let my feeling be known about ppl like that on my 360 blog...but what do YOU do if you encounter someone like that?

I used to have a papillon dog that my mother in law did not like. Pets are an important part of ones family and that should be respected. I respected the bird that she had imprisoned in a small cage.

This is a good question. I think as long as you and your friend aren't living in the same household it shouldn't be too large an issue. One of my best friends I grew up with is totally NOT an animal person (her mom wasn't and her mom before her wasn't). No critters in the house or anything. I have always had animals...and lots of them! :) She just deals with it. I deal with the fact that she doesn't want any living thing in her house besides her and her husband (I find it strange) and she deals with the fact that my house looks like a jungle (plants, animals & and no a/c - lots of humidity! - and she finds it strange) but we are friends and love each other for who we are and what we are. However - I'm sure there is no way we could ever share a household! LOL!
When I was dating (I now have a b/f of 4 years) THAT was a must....MUST LOVE ANIMALS. :) No doubt about it there. That would cause serious problems down the road.

umm I have a cat that gets on my husbands nerves. Neither one are checking out but the cat IS 18. I respect his wishes and try to keep her from yapping (siamese) at him too too much. I also respect peoples choices to have or not have a pet. They make a great addition to the home and are real neat little companions but not everyone wants or should have a pet. It's a little like the childless commenting on those with children or vice versa.

everyone has different opinions & lifestyles & personally I feel that everyone is entitled to that BUT when a person comes into my ilfe they either take me with my pets or not at all...after all I am who I am & my pets are a part of that person...love me love my pets...well ok they dont hv to "love" them but they at least hv to respect my choices enough to deal w them w/out complaint....after all I do my best to be sure my pets are well behaved & kept clean so as not to offend others as well as myself....my true friends would never hate my pets as they are a part of me

I live in a country where dogs are seen as taboo, not to be touched and people cross the street to get away from my tiny little terrier!
It makes me crazy sometimes, the thing I get constantly is "Does it bite?"
My dogs have never ever bitten anyone in their lives and it makes me soooooooo mad the way people treat me like a freak cos I put my animals first!

I have a snake and most of my family is afraid of him, so I just tease them my sneaking up behind them and put him on their shoulders, it really freaks them out!!!
