Is there any software that will fool the game into thinking my graphic card does support pixel shading? The game starts and then freezes. Is my only solution a new grahpics card? Thanks in advance for any advice, I might receive.

Your only solution would be to get a new graphics card with the capability of supporting pixel shading.

You will have to purchase another graphics card i'm afraid, games are actually improving alot quicker than computer components.

yeah...
if you have high standard graphic card, and you encounter that kind of error, may be your agp apparture and your graphic card is not compatible.
if not and you still encounter that kind of error, you need to replace your current graphic card to higher one (like ATI radeon, NVidia, so on.. with at least 128mbram).
try it...
