I have heard of this before, no I would say its not really "normal" but it is common. Its all about control, he wants to take control of you. If you are comfortable with it, I don't think I would be.
How long have you known him? let me say this, if you allow this to happen, its possible it could escalate out of control and become an actual abusive rape. Be careful here.
