Maniaphobia = Fear of insanity ( also Agateophobia or Dementophobia )

Has there been a record of anyone being declared legally insane after a " freak out " caused by their own fear of insanity, and if so, was it considered a case of irony that they became that which they feared?

Its pretty rare these days that people get declared "legally insane". There are many who have a mental illness who have delusions, hallucinations, poor judgement, and poor insight, but they still manage to live and work in the community as best they can. Some people with a mental illness surely have fears about "going insane", but I would argue that this fear is a consequence of A. Mental Illness B. Stress of living with a mental illness C. Stigma of living with a mental illness. Fear of insanity by itself is not a cause of insanity.
