It is simply not the way the World works, that would be more of way you choose to live. Purity is a gift that you shouldn't just give away. Be more picky about your generosity, don't waste it, with hopes that everyone will treat you that way. Your joy should come from your acts alone not the reaction of others anyway or don't do it. Take comfort in the the things that stand true to you. Your life will reflect those things and maybe they will see that, maybe they won't... but you will know. Niceness is often mistaken as a weakness, it is unfortunate but true. Be nice but not weak, they will walk all over you!

I am really sorry to hear that because I've seen that happen to many people and they all wonder why and get depressed.

Why are they mean? Because they just don't have enough love in them. They don't even love themselves. Let alone other people. That's why they treat others like crap.

Love isn't about some warm feeling. It's giving yourself up for the sake of others. Don't give up, some day soon, someone is going to find out how great a person you are and they too will love you for who you are!!!

I use to be the very same way years ago. My own mother even told me I was too nice when people weren't nice to me. Unfortunatly over the years others have been mean enough to me without provocation. I think some people enjoy hurting others because they are so miserable. Haven't you ever heard the expression " sometimes people take kindness for weakness"? You don't have to be nasty because someone is that way to you, but their are ways to let someone know you don't appreciate their actions. Always be yourself, and one day you will learn how to dismiss those kind of people out of your life.

I'm not sure why but I feel very strongly about this topic.

They are mean to you because they are losers.

They feel frustrated and inadequate because they don't have money, or they don't have style or no one likes them, so they are mean.

If you are nice and they are mean then that means that you are strong and they are weak. And you have one of the greatest qualities: personal strength or honor.

You should continue being nice, but don't get dragged down to their level. I'm not religious, but that's why Jesus got so much respect - he gave his time and effort over to these people and in the end they nailed him to a tree. But at least he died with honor.

Look at the newspaper. Lots of unspeakable things happen every day. Continue to be nice but channel it correctly.

Volunteer at a charity.
Help out at your church.
Treat others as you treat yourself.
Do things for the planet like recycle and use environmentaly conscious energy and products.

Their is a difference between being nice and being taken advantage of. To know the difference you need wisdom and experience.

The bible talks a bit about why bad people here and how we are supposed to learn from them. Look at the parable of the wheat:
--------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------
The Parable of the Weeds in Mathew 13:
24Jesus told them another parable: "The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. 25But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away. 26When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared.
27"The owner's servants came to him and said, 'Sir, didn't you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from?'

28" 'An enemy did this,' he replied.
"The servants asked him, 'Do you want us to go and pull them up?'

29" 'No,' he answered, 'because while you are pulling the weeds, you may root up the wheat with them. 30Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.' "

The Parable of the Weeds Explained
36Then he left the crowd and went into the house. His disciples came to him and said, "Explain to us the parable of the weeds in the field."
37He answered, "The one who sowed the good seed is the Son of Man. 38The field is the world, and the good seed stands for the sons of the kingdom. The weeds are the sons of the evil one, 39and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels.

40"As the weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age. 41The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. 42They will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 43Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear.
-------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------
So in other words, God did not create evil, the devil did.
God does not want to pull all the bad people out for fear that some of the good will be destroyed.
Having bad people around us will make us stronger. We learn lessons from them.
Our job is not to wish for an early harvest or to wish that bad people were never created. Our job is to be the best that we can be so that when harvest time comes we will wind up in the barn.

I know how it feels. One starts to feel taking advantage of. I have been so nice to so many people and bent over backwards for them to only be let down and more or less slapped in the face. The nicer I am, the more I am anot good enough for them. i am starting think I need to treat people like crap just so they are nice me. I feel for you......

I lady I knew as an acquaitance came to me for help. She was a single mom with no car. I hauled her all over town, took her and the baby to dr.appts. Bought them formula and diapers when she was broke. Gave her a box of new clothes I had in closet. Tags still on, name brand clothing. I watched her kid when she needed time alone. I borrowered her money. Made sure she had good clothes for job interviews. Watched her child for free. I felt bad for the little boy. I loved that child more then the mother did. And she turned around and accused me of beating her child. And told it all over town how her son was full of black and blue marks when she picked him up from my house. I noticed the marks on his body after she dropped him off and I took of his snow suit. I the later found out she had a strange man living with her who did not work. I would not borrow her money. so she told it all over town how I beat her child. I should have called child protection when I seen all the black and blue marks. A friend was over and also noticed them as I took off the snow suit. The more people you help and are nicer to. the more they are mean to you. I think that some days I should be mean to everyone and see what kind of response I get in return. I knew another women who had no money for school shoes for her boys. so I bought them school shoes and clothes and in return she was to paint the inside of my house. She never did do it, and now she refuses to talk to me. Another friend had seven kids of her own. her and her husband. I was always watching the kids in my free time and never once got offered any money. Then I found out they were paying this other lady ten bucks and hour to watch the kids when I could not. So I said that was not fair and I should get paid. I was told friends do not charge friends for taking care of their kids. I feel of you. Stop being nice......
