Hi, I'm Asian too and had highlights for a very long time. Problem is: to create highlights in black hair as ours you always have to bleach. Eventually I ended up almost looking blonde... which is not where you want to go. Now I had it dyed in a dark brown shade and my highlights shine throught in a lighter brown which is lovely.
So if I were you I'd check on this:
1) do you have a cool skin tone: pinkish beige? Stick to black or a 'cool' brown shade like Courtney Cox or Liv Tyler have.
2) do you have a wam skin tone: yellow, olive or golden? Opt for richer and warmer brown shades (though not lighter) like Eve Longoria's.
Golden, light brown highlights will only look good on you if you have a warm complexion. If you're a 'cool' asian, black is just fine and as you may have noticed, highlights in black hair just don't look natural.
Good luck!

if you are asian then your hair is very stong black, you need the highlights to bring it out, yet you do not like the options, broaden your horizons and go with a mild bleach rinse and then you will have light brown

Don't go too dramatic and just add a few hints of brown and hazel highlights.

Try something on the wild side. Use a bleach to lighten a few strips of your hair, and try a color like violet.
