You're still single and your parents are both retired . But, it's not like you live for free like kids. You pool your resources with your siblings to run the household. It just so happens that you're a close-knit family.

Well, I'm 22 and I live with my parents, they both work though. I have a pretty high paying job but I like living with my family. My sister (27) brother (17) and niece (4) all live with my folks and it's a nice environment. I am planning on moving out before the end of the year but I dont feel I am in any great rush.

I do not I am 32 married and have a house, My sister however, is 35 and lives with her husband,2 kids and husband with my mom and dad. yet they bought a 60k car and complains when she cant make decorating decsions in the house. Buy a house sis, geesh.

I agree with your points, it is just difficult in the states because as a society independance and individuality is promoted and living with family is just not condusive with so many personalities in one household

I don´t know about others. But I´m already 22 and still lives with my parents. It´s practical that way since i live close to where i work. And it would be very rude and very much impractical to rent a flat just so i would seem very independent.

Im 24, live with my mom and she's not retired. It's not because I'm mommy's son; I just don't have enough money for a sublet or own place.

I currently live with my mother while I am working on my doctorate. She is disabled and it is financially great for both of us. I did not live with her for 7 years while I did my undergraduate work, etc. I am married and my wife lives in another state pursuing her degree.

i can say "alleluia" i live alone....

But all of my friends still live with their parents....
but this living is just to get laundry done, food inside and sleep....

the rest of the time is for their freewill............

their parents let them do what they want and there are no such things as telling their kids do this or do that......

my friends are still too childish
