If you're talking about Toledo, Ohio, it's not the Devil's armpit, it's the armpit of the U.S.A. No wait, that's Newark, NJ...or is it Gary, IN???
I'm not sure.

A mere expression, and no I don't think Toledo is that bad; at least it wasn't last time I visited in the early '90's.

Well, if the temperature in Toledo is higher than it is in Hell, Michigan, then it really is hotter than hell outside. It would be a true statement.

I thought Toledo, Ohio was a popular tourist destination with the cool refreshing tradewinds and the laid back natives with their quaint cultural ways. I hear August is the best month to go there. Should I bring ice?

Heh, try living in Tucson or Phoenix for one day - you'll be real glad to get back to Toledo.

It's just an expression, unless someone actually went to hell and back to make the comparison.

According to my sources, hell is currently 666 degrees, but it feels like 777. So if you're in hell, just stay in the air conditioning. ;-D
