DO NOT DO IT!!! If you hair is dyed the acid in the lemon will re act and could change your hair all kinds of colors. Also its not good for your hair in the first place. It will seriousley dry your hair out horribly

I work in the spa industry and let me tell you...the hardest thing that the stylists ever work with is dry, damaged hair and putting lemon on your hair and lying in the sun will do just that. Yes, it can make it lighter, but UV rays on citric acid spell disaster in the long run. Breaking and frizz are almost unavoidable in the end. Avoid home treatments like this and home bleaching kits and spend the money to see a professional. They're trained to know what balance of product to use for your hair and skin type to achieve the results you desire. It can be a lot of money, especially to maintain, but the results are worth it because you can only wear hats for so long after a bad hair experience.

I used to do that when I was in junior high during the summer. My hair was light brown, I put lemon juice on in streaks, and it made cool highlights.

I read that the acid from lemons could get your hair lighter but if your hair color is naturally dark I don't think it will be that visible though.

yes i do it every summer. it really brings out the red tones in my hair. (i have darkish brown hair) sometimes i also buy this stuff called sun-in. it works like the lemon juice but better. it also works if you put it on before you blow dry your hair.

Yes. But be careful because it can get orange. Try Sun In. They have it at most stores.

Uhm....no...not at all. If you want blonde hair, go to a beauty salon and get it dyed professional, that way there aren't any "opps...why is my hair red??!" days. ;)
