yum is a piece of of sofware used in linux, for updating etc

It is not recommend unless you know a lot about linux, I am afraid I am windows user, so know little of linux

All the best, I really can't help further than that I prefer to use windows it is simpler.

The program is galled YUM (Yellowdog Update Manager [iirc]). Yum is a program for updating and installing programs, it is a package manager.
