Finding a methadone clinic is probably your best move at this time. Without that, you may be looking at 4 to 7 days and more of the intense pain you describe as the detox process works through you. Here's a link to the Drug and Alcohol resourse center Heroin addiction webpage: http://www.addict-help.com/heroin-detox.htm
Here you can find more information on the Heroin detox process and what you can expect to go through, as well as ways to cope with that process. I sincerely hope you realize that you can't do this on your own and seek proper medical help. Even if you have no financial resources, opiate addiction help is most likely available in your area in the form of clinics and charitable institutions.
Religious organizations are another strong option, particularly in finding solid mental attitudes to help you through this, though proper medical attention is your best bet.

Dear Jill,
You have a very serious medical problem which cannot be handled on this board. You need to dial 911 and request an ambulance. You need to seek medical attention ASAP.
I have been on Morphine for 8 years and am up to 120 mgs/day. I start to go into withdrawls after a couple hours late for my next dose, I am under the care of a doctor and this is all prescribed, but they have made me an addict, Get to the hospital, PLEASE. You may be heading for a heart attack and possible death if you don't hurry.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

try to get into a rehab asap - seriously. Or call a detox. I don't know where u live but I know about addiction and you are goind to feel horrible so get some medical help right away - go to nearest hospital if necessary so they can give you something to come down. Methadone clinics?? You really have to try to get off of this drug though -- my boy friend is an ex heroin addict who used for almost his whole life and he is recently clean for 4 years now - it is possible sweetie. But u can't do it alone. Get help. There are drugs now to block receptors in your brain from the high - there are ways to stop - and you want to stop before you die. Please - call someone or go to hospital. Be careful
WHAT STATE ARE YOU IN? TOWN? SOME INFO PLEASE?

I guess rehab isn't too much of an option...please get somebody you know well and trust completely...go stay with them for two weeks and be completely off the heroin...withdrawal is more torture than one can imagine but you'll get over it only if this person is there with you the whole time to make sure you're well and truly off it.

The most impotant thing is that you're trying. Like most wounded animals, you need a private place to heal. Lock yourself in your room. only go out if you need to take a big dump. It's going to come on soon. Drink lots of water and eat soft foods like soup and the like. I'ts going to be excrutiating for about 48 hours. Get through that and you're home free. Next time you get the urge just remember what you're going through now.

You need to get help either from a detox center or rehabiltation that will get you through the hard times and help you live in the outside world of every day living. It will be hard and you will go through a lot of pain from your addiction. You will go through rashes ,hot and cold flushes , smells coming through your skin as you are going through the withdrawal, and your mood swings will be shocking.
look after your self and take care.

Have a friend around you all throughout, cold turkey is the only way to go, also, do a major detox--detox tea from the heath food store, lots of cool spring water (not freeezing cold). Take lukewarm baths.
Feeling alone is your worst enemy! Try meditating morning and night-it works!!
Congrats on your decison!!

Call the police, get yourself admitted for treatment.
Admitting to your addiction is a good start towards a better life.
