I have to work in the stuff, and Im from Rhode Island!!
Drink lots of fluids, try adding a bit of oatmeal to the water before you drink it, it will cool the body and help you to retain moisture, and give energy. Rule out sensitivity to the sun caused by pharmaceuticals and you will solve your problem. Protect your head with a hat (crucial) and shades will lessen the glare. A wet cloth around the neck will cool your blood.
PS: air conditioning makes you more sensitive to the sun. Try using box fans instead if its less than a hundred.
Good luck!!

Drink plenty of water.
Do not eat heavy or overly spicy foods.
Do active things early or late in the day(I walk my dog at night 9pm or so here in TX.)
I have a problem with heat rash so I use baking soda in my bath every night to help strip away the sweat & balance my body's PH. About 1 cup to a full bath or warm not hot water.

I live in TX where it thankfully isn't humid but we still get 100+ degrees weather every summer. To get through it I stay inside as must as possible. Just make sure you have a good A/C and plenty of fans!!

I reckon you just get used to it. I've always loved the heat and humidity, it just feels right. Its also fun to see yankees driving through on their way to Florida, they can barely breathe when they first get out of their cars. Unfortunately it doesn't keep enough yankees out, as anyone who has been to Atlanta in the last 15 years can atest.
p.s.-Oklahoma isn't in the south.

Ha, it's pretty damn hot up here too. Its going to be a hundred tomorrow. We kind of have to conserve energy though, can't have another blackout. And you people should stop complaining...in a county near mines, and theres over thousands of people w/out power. Live with that.

I ONLY shop at off hours like 3am. It is soooo nice and cool then, and I don't have to fight the crowds. Other than that, I don't go out until it starts to cool off..lol..it really s ucks this year with all the heat.

I'm from TN and it's really hot and REALLY humid. Makes it hard to breathe outside. It's just something that your body and your mind have to get used to. Can't stay inside forever!! Have to get out in it to get used to it.
Take cold water with you wherever you go.
