I don't know, somehow I manage just fine without getting in anyone's pants, and it's not because I don't love anyone. My problem right now is, he's so cynical that if I tell him I love him, he'll take that as his cue to believe exactly the opposite.

When is it going to dawn on him that:

I really was living the happy life of an old maid when I met him.

I really did *choose* my way into loving him, with those little decisions to hear him out, do the little favor here or there, etc. and then poof! Suddenly it was 'more than that'...

Sure, he rejected my marriage proposal, but I'd do it again in a minute if it seemed suitable.

I really do have a good life; if I spend time with him, it's not because I 'have to have him'.

I still love him, and at the same time am moving on with my life - without a need to look at other men.

When I'm with him, I am so happy just to be with the man I love that I forget all the hard things he's said to me over the years.

It looks 'impossible' for us to be together - and yet I still love. I believe God is able to do it - but I am willing to risk look foolish if He doesn't bring it to pass.

If he finds someone else and they're really happy together, I'll be happy for him. Then obviously I'd stop thinking of marrying him someday - that would be the moral and respectful thing to do...

But that won't stop me from praying that God would protect us from other people if He wants us to be together and the question is merely one of giving Him time to work!

And if He ever does lead us to move towards 'something more', we will definitely put each other first, take responsibility for our decision, and make that permanent commitment. And save sex for our wedding night!

Of course, I'm not suggesting he should love me just because I love him - that would be selfish. But I like to think that with God's help I can create an environment where he is... free to love me.

However, in the end, I can only do so much, the rest has to be put in God's hands...

I believe that when you love someone they are all you can think about. You want to marry them someday and you want to spend all of your time with them. It is something that you just know and you never want to let it go.
