Islam allows every man to marry up to 4 women only, and under specific circumstances, such as infertility problems and so... this can take place only if he can be fair with each one of them, and that none of them feels jealous of the other.. if that is the case, and he is not just or fair, and one of the wives is jealous its not allowed.... but people are still doing it for their own good despite the real reason behind it.
The prophet Muhammed married most of these women because they were old, alone, in need...etc. The reason he married them was to give them shelter. It wasnt like he was having sex the whole time and being a playboy! That is what the west is seeing!
After he died, a lot of them became speakers of the practices of him, teaching people about Islam and the way of life giving examples of Muhammed's life. A lot of them were accounted as sources of information.

No they did not get married. One of them Khadijah (May Allah be pleased with her) died many yrs earlier than the prophets(Peace be upon him) passing away. She was his first wife. During her life time he had only one wife.
The others were married much later. After his passing away they did not marry and advised the caliphs on many matters relating to governance and Islamic jurisdiction.

After Muhammad died all of his wives did not get married again.They were widowees until they died.God spoke that all of Muhammad wives will be honoured and Siti Hadijah was one of the best and very honoured.women in the eyes'of God.

all of his wives will die of starvation because women are not allow to work, even to provide their family. They will all become homeless and they will have to sell their children.
