I got bit, or stung, by something today on the top of my hand. At first, I felt a sting but didn't see anything. Then, it swelled up, with a little red dot in the middle, kind of like a mosquito bite. That was almost 5 hours ago. Now, it's really red and sensitive to the touch. It's right on the vein that is under my middle finger knucke on my left hand. I looked for a stinger from a bee, but I don't see anything. It sure feels like I got stung though. Any suggestions?? What could this be??

Could be lots of things. It might be a spider bite, I swell up just like that from spider bites. But, as I said...it's hard to say.

If the topical creams would possibly not paintings, check out an over-the-counter alergy therapy. This will manage the histamines that intent plenty of the itching. BUT.. provided that the individual would generally take this variety of therapy. Aloe gel may also provide a few fundamental remedy. The well information is that almost all computer virus bites quit itching after an afternoon or so... (however that does not support for that day - does it?) well success... .

Could be one of those mayflies, kinda nasty, painful, or it could have been a meditteranean fly. Either way, if its not swelling up the rest of your hand Id say squeeze it and get out the poison, then alcohol or witchhazel, and ice it. If it swells up badly, have it looked at. .

Good luck!!

Maybe it's a tick. Better get it removed if it is. If it's a "bull's eye" like you said it could go into Lyme disease. Look it up on Answers.com and find the CORRECT way to remove it. If it is a tick of course.

Use alcohol and calamin lotion.Do not scratch. I had three of those bites on me after walking around in the flea market. It'll go away just don't scratch.
