Pick something you have a slight interest in.
If you like sports you may be able to help a youth team, a boys/ girls club. You could work with scouts and introduce new games to the kids, you could find a Senior Olympics or Special Olympics and help there.
Like to garden? home repairs? check with a local Church or senior center, social service group and see if they have projects.
Volunteer to read or run games, do a puppet show for preschoolers at your local library, or do the same for seniors.
Into music, sing or perform for these people as well.
Environment? Park clean up, recycling awareness posters or flyers.
Like to write? Write letters for seniors, or write a small book based on their recollections. You could check groups like VFW or a local union or age home and see if people could tell you about a certain era or event and help record their opinions and remembrances. You could focus on a racial group or immigrant group, a worker type, a war era, or social change.
You could get far more individual and pick a person or small group close to home to assist.
You could do political work for a local or state candidate or you could find out about and publicize voter registration and polling times and places.
There are always things to do, just find something you like or that you have easy access to. It can be as simple as sweeping sidewalks and picking up the neighborhood to restoring a wetland or labeling a nature walk. If you have an idea on careers you like you may be able to work in that area.
Good luck.

I volunteered at a hospital for my graduation. You'll not only get your 20 hours of community service but it will be a fun experience. If you want to go to medical school or plan on being a nurse, this would look really good on your resume.

If you want to be a doctor. volunteer as a nurse.
If you want to be a teacher, volunteer as a teacher aid in kindergarten school.
If you want to be a civil defence. volunteer as a aid to them
But most of all joining in any community service, you must have the interest of what are you doing to enjoy it also.

I suggest you volunteer at your local food bank, homeless shelter, soup kitchen, or in a local school.
