for nausea you can make these different teas:

* chamomile
* cloves
* ginger
* peppermint

for diarrhea:

Nutrition

* Avoid coffee, chocolate, dairy products, strong spices, and solid foods. Introduce clear soup, crackers, white bread, rice, potatoes, applesauce, and bananas as diarrhea gets better.
* Rice or barley water, fresh vegetable juices (especially carrot and celery), miso broth, or other clear broths help restore proper fluid and electrolyte balance. Make rice and barley water using 1 cup of raw grain to 1 quart of boiling water. Let steep for 20 minutes. Strain and drink throughout the day.
* Lactobacillus taken as powder or in capsules helps normalize bowel flora and may help cure your diarrhea. Take as directed.
* Glutamine (3,000 mg three times per day) is helpful in treating diarrhea that is caused by irritation of the intestinal lining rather than infection.

tea n crackers?? That makes u even more sick. Well, the tea does. Crackers r fine. But just try eating light stuff, like chicken noodle soup (Campbells always made me sick because of all the oil in it.) Progressive is a good soup. Just eat light, drink sprite. Hey that rhyme! lol! But drinking gingerale pop is good 4 ur stomach also. Afterwards when ur feeling a little better u can try going 4 a little tea, but not when it first starts.

The best thing you can eat or drink when you have an upset stomach and the symptoms you refer to is commonly called the BRAT diet. Bread, Rice, Applesauce, and Toast. Some people use different accronyms, easiest way to think of it is absorbant food, something that will absorb excess acid in your stomach will ease the pressure. When it comes to drinking, dont drink anything with carbonation, try natural fluids, milk and juices. Hope you feel better. Good luck and feel better.

As aforementioned, ginger ale (non-alcoholic of course), also a tea of american "false" saffron (or the real stuff if you don't mind losing a little), and a tea made from steaping crushed watermelon seeds in water. These are only curatives for mild aggrivations though, if you have persistant bouts with any of the three you mentioned, then you should definitely consult a physician.

The general rule is the BRAT diet..... Bread, Rice, Applesauce, Tea....... Basically you want to go basic.... Nothing that is spicey or rich... Also, if you are actively throwing up the general rule is to avoid all po(by mouth) intake for 4 hours.. Then start with water, clear liquids, and from there as tolerated....
As for prevention..... Avoid what caused the problem.... Without more details I can only be vague here.... But generally spicey rich foods are more mikely to cause nausea, diahrrea.....

I drink 7Up, ginger ale or Sprite and eat soda crackers; sometimes I eat the noodles from Campbell's chicken noodle soup if I don't think I'm going to throw up.

You'd be surprised....drink some ginger ale!! The ginger in the drink soothes an upset tummy. This advice REALLY works, and was told to me by a NURSE.

i don't know of any foods that prevent all the above, but sprite and coke are good cuz of the sugar to calm the stomach, gatorade is good too; chicken broth with or without rice has worked for me (rice is the easiest to digest, that's why it's a baby's first food), jello is good to eat also
