My dog cannot stop peeing at random intervals. I've tried kicking him, locking him in the basement, taping his penis to his belly, and causing extreme amounts of pain to him, but nothing works. Any ideas?

Please tell me you are joking.
Dear heaven I hope you are joking.
You dog is either sick or scared to death of you. Either way you need a vet. You may have injured him on top of having a bladder infection.
Think about it. If someone came in and beat the crap out of you and did what you did to the dog to you, wouldn't you pee when the person came at you again?
Please tell me how that is teaching him not to pee. It just teaches him you are a monster that will hurt him.
Find the dog a new home. You don't need to have one anymore.
Thank you.

Some of the people that have previously responded to this question shouldn't even entertain the ideas they have, let alone print them for all to see. Obviously it is wiser to be thought a fool, than open your mouth and erase all doubt. Anyway, back to the question. If you really did this to your dog, I will utilize the contacts that my detective uncle has and prosecute you for animal cruelty. Then I would love to kick you, tape your probably small penis to your belly, and kick you into the basement where you could sit and ponder the error of your ways. That being said, your dog may have a urinary tract infection, he may have malformed ureters or urethras that are causing him some hereditary problems with incontinence, also, this dog could have diabetes insipidus, or diabetes mellitus, which can both be treated. In any case the dog should be taken to a reputable veterinarian for a thorough workup. If you can't afford to take your dog to the vet and provide him with ample care, you shouldn't have a dog!

If this is a prank posting, it's not funny.

If your posting is for real, then you are engaging in animal abuse which in many states is a felony.

The dog may have started peeing either out of territorial urges (especially since I assume that you haven't neutered your dog) or because it had a bladder infection. Instead of taking him to a vet, you abuse him. Now it is probably peeing because it is scared to death of you.

My advice is that you need urgently need to see a counselor, clergy, or mental health professional, especially if you have children for fear that you may engage in the same kind of behavior with them. I can promise you that you, your family and your dog will be in much better shape if you do so. If you do not seek help, please put the dog up for adoption.

Have you tried yelling at him? some dogs respond best to sarcastic cynical comments. Example, "Wow Sparky i am so proud of you peeing on the floor...why don't you add a few number 2's next time because cleaning up after you is the highlight of my day."

Are you really trying to cure this problem??

Watch Cesar Milan the Dog Whisperer. He will tell you why he does it and how to cure it.

Have you tried walking the dog an hour everyday?? This, I'm certain isn't a urinary problem.

First of all you should be shot. Second, your dog MUST go to the vet. He has a urinary tract infection, and a very bad one at that. It's NOT his fault either. It's YOURS for not paying attention to the symptoms.

I vote for the age. The bladder is grown round 6-months-previous, so that you're on the border with the potty education. except you imagine that is a bladder an infection, i ought to assert you choose to save engaged on potty education. that is tempting to enable your take care of down at this age, yet follow it.
