You actually have to get a pigment remover to get the black dye out of your hair first. Then you can bleach it. But be careful because some black hair dyes have metallic properties in them and the remover wont work. If you try to many times your hair will fry and you'll have to cut your ends off. Or your ends will just turn orange and go no lighter. In this case you may still want to cut the ends off.

Your going to need a bleach type treatment, as Dye will not lift Dye. Your best bet is to go to a salon. Your going to want to use a Dye Remover in Conjunction with the lightener, otherwise you could end up muddy, and not a clean blonde.

I strongly suggest you go to a salon, just don't try it a home. I've tried going from dark hair to blonde and it pretty much didn't work and ruined my hair. You would have to bleach it out because black is the hardest things to get rid of. But it won't turn out blonde, it'll turn orange, and if you try to bleach it again it will just turn yellow and fry your hair and you will hardly be able to get a comb through it. It also won't hold color after wards from being so damaged.

bleach it and then dye the bottom the color of blonde you want but keep a close eye on it while bleaching

bleaching out is the only way to get blonde from dark, you however will have to strip your hair with a color remover first and then bleach. lots of reconstructive conditioner to follow.

Going for the reverse skunk look or something? IMHO the two color blonde/black thing is plain tacky. Dare I say trailer trash?

It's hard to go from black to blonde. I would go to a salon.
