what is mock dock?

every time i go to a restaurant i find a mock dock on a vegetarian menu. i have no idea what it is. plz tell me.

Mock Duck. It's a fake meat dish made with processed wheat gluten. Apparently 'mock dock' is either a brand name or a popular misspelling.

Personally I don't understand why veggie people feel the need to create vegetarian dishes that imitate meat dishes, especially since most of them suck a** by comparison. If you want chicken nuggets, have chicken nuggets. If you want broccoli, have broccoli.
