The quote makes it sound like people need to believe in something or their lives will lack purpose. It's very possible not to believe in anything in particular and still not resort to knocking others. The two don't go together.

I agree with your sentiment. And I like Pagan humor. We can sit around the bonfire all night in my all-path group telling Pagan lightbulb jokes.

Absolutely. Faith in ANYTHING is better than having nothing to hope for. I don't believe there is a "wrong faith"- per se. All roads lead to God even if it's not Him we particulaly believe in. The differences in beliefs reflect the differences in men- not anything having to do with God. HE believes in US- & we're a part of his "plan" -whether we acknoledge it or not. The more we understand THAT, the more we see the relationship we share with all peoples-everywhere. And that LOVE for one another- is the uniting principle.

If you strongly believe in something, then it really doesn't matter if people knock you for your beliefs.
If you like oranges and someone who doesn't like them picks on you for it - who cares. YOU like oranges. Some people would rather complain about everything than get a belief system of their own that they have to defend against other people like them!

It is better to have something you believe in rather than to just knock down what you don't believe in.

yes because having a life without beliefs is an empty one. And knocking everything down just proves how miserable those people are.

True enough. It's like this: you're always more content to believe something than you are to criticize everyone else.

I don't really get paganism, but it has always seemed more benign to me than Christianity and ma'am, I will say this:
I like your avatar's hat.
