A tape with a recording of you talking, or even write a poem, put on some nice music in the background, and recite it into a tape recorder. That's always nice.
Send him a little doll, either paper or plastic, and tape some of your hair on it, tape a picture of your face on it.
Cut different letters out of various newspapers, magazines, etc. Make him a ransom note. Tell him you're holding his favorite thing, whatever it is back home, hostage until he returns or until he writes you a love letter (or whatever works for your relationship). Then send him a tape from whatever this item is, with a very high pitched scared voice saying "do what she says, she means it". Take a picture of it tied up or with a bag over its head (or whatever it is) with a note next to it saying "I'm vewy vewy scared".

I sent some items to Iraq in the past. I sent DVDs mostly, but I read that they like just about anything. T-shirts, magazines, soap, toothbrushes, etc. Just make sure you write down your return address. I think the military opens the packages before they leave the US. Just a hunch. You know, for security reasons.

First and foremost, I would like to say my husband came back aobut 2 months ago from Iraq, he was over there for 7 months, tough times, but as strong military wives (Marine Wife-OOHRAH), we need to keep our heads up for them...second, there are many theme typed packages you could send, for instance, my husband was over there from Halloween till EASTER! So I would always send a "special package" for that holiday, themed of course, they are fun, and if you shop at Wal-Mart, they are inexpensive. For regular care packages, you could send the follwing:
Peanuts in a jar
Gummi Bears
Starburst
Baby Wipes (THEY SOOOO NEED THEM!)
CD Player
IPOD
Toilet paper
Microwavable ravioli, spaghetti, etc...
TUNA! Starkist brand preferred
NO CHOCOLATES, they tend to melt FAST
Breakfast bars
TONS OF GUM
Cornnuts
Cutips
New socks and underwear, they will need those alot for those long days without showers.
Pictures of you
Music
Tapes with your voice recorded
I MISS YOU cards
A Comb
A battery operated shaver
Small games, like dominos, chess, and so forth.
MANY MANY Letters
Toothbrush
Toothpaste
Deodorant
Book Puzzles
Comic book
and the list can go on and on.
I wish you and your husband the best of luck. God bless him, and yours and his family during this time.

Something he misses the most when deployed. I special picture, a golf ball (if her plays golf), etc.
I once read where someone had sent her husband some dirt and grass seeds because he missed having grass.
Another women sent her husband sand from the beach because he missed the beach when he was gone.

There are ATT call centers on all the bases for the service adult males to apply however the PX infrequently has any enjoying cards accessible to purchase. the appropriate card to deliver is the 250 or 3 hundred minute card as they are making international calls on them and basically get approximately ninety minutes of easily calling time on a 300 min card. something sent in everyday or greeting card envelope basically demands a everyday 39 cent stamp. -if he smokes or dips...send him some of that. There are great online stores where you can buy it cheap.
-Send cookies you made, but make sure they're wrapped.
-Depending on if he'll be out in the field, I suggest baby wipes.
-Sexy pictures of you. Just regular pictures of you and the kids (if you have any).
-His favorite flavor of coffee creamers...the little individual ones.
-Batteries
-Chocolate Milk
-And of course lots of letters. I sent my husband one every week, whether I heard from him or not. Don't be afraid to spray it with perfume or kiss it with a lipstick color he's use to. Sounds cheesy, but he'll love it!
