Since this might be a serious question, I'll give a brief answer.
When you say "too hard" you answer part of your question as too hard means, harder than is necessary or is good for you.

As humans, we have certain physical needs: food, water, air, and clothes and a home that propects us from temperature and weather that we can't tolerate. We also have psychological needs. Some of these are: someone in our life that loves us, a sense that our life makes a positive difference in the world, A sense that we have some control over whether we are able to get our physical and psychological needs met, and we have a need to do things that are fun and things that are interesting.

If we don't get our physical needs met we will get physically sick . If we don't get our psychological needs met we will get psychologically sick. We will get some negative psychological symptoms such as Depression, anxiety, compulsive behavior,or other things.

We need a balance in our life; of meaningful work, friends, doing some things for others, working for goals that are meaningful for ourselves, fun, etc.

Working most of the time prevents us from getting our other needs satisfied.

If you are in a job that takes up all of your time and energy, you need to look for a different job. If you don't have the education or skills to get a job that pays enough with you working 40 hours a week, then you need to work on improving your education.

Since I don't know you or your circumstances, I can only give you general information. If this issue is a problem for you, and I suspect it is, it might help to talk to a counselor so that you can get specific help and info about your specific problems or issues.

I hope this helped.

I guess it all depends on why you are working too hard. Is it because it is something you like to do, or is it because you want the money to have the extras in life, or to be able to eat, or is it just because your employer tells you that you have to? You decide if it is a waist of your time.....
Personally, I worked because I learned something new everyday, and I loved it.
