Always put the topical stuff between the shoulder blades, where it is difficult for your cat to reach it, and try to get as little on the fur as possible. Spread the fur when you apply the flea medication, so it gets to the skin. It tastes bad, so the cat drools if it manages to ingest a little of it. Unless the drooling continues, your cat should be ok.

On the back of the flea medication - drooling is stated, if they lick it. They will be fine - if it persists for more than an hour - go to a vet - she may be having a reaction to the medication. The top brands are all different medicines - Frontline, Advantage, etc... and a change may be warranted.

If there is anymore of the gel on the cat wipe it off so she won't lick anymore off. Call the vet as soon as possible. Over the counter flea medications can cause seizures and sometimes death. That's why I don't use them anymore. My vet told me about this and I have read articles on it as well.

next time put the gel on the backof the neck wheere the cat cannot reach it.
you should try to get the cat to drink lots of water and rinse its mouth.
if its not too late it is a good idea to go to a vet. read the label on the flea gel bottle and it will say if it is fatal or if needed to flush the mouth, or if a vet will be needed.

She will probably be OK. The stuff tastes so terrible they drool get the taste out of their mouths. They don't think to get a drink of water. Silly babies!!!
As long as she only got a little, not the whole vial, she will probably be fine.
If any other signs of illness come up. Like: acting drunk or confused, sleepy and you can't wake her, drinking water or crying more than usual. Go to a vet.

She needs immediate medical attention. Most cities have an emergency animal hospital that stays open all night. Try to find one of those, if not, monitor her closely through the night.

I would say call 911 and see if they can find a 24/7 vet or hospital for you. I'm sure they can find something.
