Males and females alike take Y/A waaaaaaaaaay tooooooo serious. You can ask a serious question, and get five foolish answers, but someone usually steps up and give a legitimate one. So you are right, we should all chill and enjoy the points. When you ask a question jokingly, just be glad they don't have your home address.

Yeah I think most us do realize it and just don't care. We are so used to being put down, ostracized, treated as an inferior, percieved as a *****, and/or meant to be seen not heard that we are always on the defensive. Yeah maybe sometimes we just need to chill out but a huge chunk of the time we have a right to get defensive.

I think girls are quick to defend themselves b/c society is overly critical of females in general. We're supposed to be thin, beautiful, smart, creative, good cook, good housekeeper, mother, career woman, superwoman! Sometimes women have to try really hard to make themselves known. They have to fight a little harder for respect, and they have to defend themselves quite a bit more often. I'm sure they don't intend on being dramatic....
Personally, I think I'm a little defensive b/c it seems more and more often I run into bad mouth b*tches who are critical and rude. Women used to have manners and be a little timid about speaking their mind...but some have taken it to the other extreme.

There's a whole subculture behind the way girls treat each other, different forms of socializing, and ostracizing. I wrote a research paper about this. Girls CAN be bitchy. Many don't realise how harmful it can be.

i think we've all learned to defend ourselves at the first sign of...pretty much anything. and yeah, they dont realize...well...actually..WE dont realize that we do it.. but we cant help that. its like.. if we're not gonna defend ourselves...who is?
