I will definitely follow number 1, because I do not have the authority to challange them (even if I have I will not do so) and even if they give me hard time.
This is what a good child should do. But unfortunately, with the advent of TV etc. now children are seeing something which is shown to them. Hence they feel it is all right to do all things as shown there, wheather it is realted to religion or anything else even against the wishes of their parents. They feel that they know everything.
But time comes when they realise that what ther parents used to tell them was correct, at least majority of what they used to say.
But I don't really think that there are any parents who can tell their child there is no God except Atheists.

God's Word says we are to honor our parents. It doesn't say honor them only if they are good parents, if they agree with you, if you love them, if you think they are doing their best. It says honor them!! If you have found God and know the power of prayer and have a close relationship with our Lord Jesus and know that your body houses the Holy Spirit, nothing anyone says will change what you know is real. The very best thing you can do is pray for them that by seeing the way you live and by opening their hearts, they too will come to the saving knowledge of the wonderful grace of God!

Colosians 3:20 Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well-pleasing in the Lord.
Obey your parents as long as what they say in not contrary to what the Bible teaches. If I had to make a choice between what my parents tell me and what God tells me in His word, I HAVE to obey God over my parents. For only God died for my sin so that I may enter into Heaven.

i was raised catholic, but converted to Wicca.
i was fascinated by the Occult since I was little, and my mom always told me it was "wrong" and "against our religion". But, even as a child, I knew catholicism was wrong and I knew what I believed in.
Since then, my family even realized that catholicism is ridiculous and believe in god, but don't practice with an organized religion.
I think it's all about respect. After a while, my mom learned to respect my beliefs, knowing that all this while (after being forced through confirmation..the worst day of my life)I was still respecting her beliefs, especially as my mother.

I believe in the freedom of religion. If you're in America, then that constitutional provision applies to you as an American citizen. The parent can't take that away from you. You have the right to believe what you want. However, if you believe in Santa, that's another story... ;-)

Allah gave you a mind to think- & a heart to feel. Ignore everything you heard from everyone else- and listen to what you hear from within. For all things, praise be to Allah.

I will explain my belief to my parents, but I will stand with my belief, even though I obey all the things whatever they say.

Believe in what you want to believe. I am Catholic and my parents taught me since I was little that there is a God.... and that is truly what i believe in.

I don't think you are making sense here. Muslims are supposed to reprimand, even if its their parents that are Muslims who don't believe in God.
