I had my baby almost 6 months ago. 3 months ago my hair started falling out a lot and I can tell that it's really getting thin, especially up front. Will taking vitamin E help? Are there any hair products that have been proven to help?

your hormones have changed since having the baby. have you checked with your ob gyn? he or she may recommend specific vitamins you should be taking at this time.

Usually when women have babies their out of whack hormones can cause hair loss. It happens often so don't worry. Nioxin is a proven hair care line that causes regrowth, however you have to be consistent because if you don't continue to use it anything that has grown back will fall out again as soon as you stop using it. Just use it long enough for your hormones to get back on track and then you can switch back to your regular shampoo. Also, you can try Phyto vitamins for hair and nails. You can get them at a Pure Beauty store or Sephora.

Join the cub! This is a completely normal (though frustrating) process a woman's body goes through after she has a baby. Mine lasted for almost 1 year! The nurse practioner I talked with about it said that while pregnant, a woman's hair and skin and nails will be better than usual, then after the baby is born, everything goes to hell! :0) It may hep for you to continue taking your prenatal vitamins---or something similar---while you go through this "shed" to lessen the affects. Otherwise, there isn't alot you can do but wait til it is over.

while you are pregnant everything is in a growth phase and you dont shed hair at a normal rate either, so about 12 weeks to 6 months after baby, you shed all the hair you stored up for 9 months, you wont go bald but it may take 6 months to get everything back to normal. pantathanic acid in shampoo and conditioner and vitamins often helps with hair growth, vit b5
